About the Workshop at the House of Wool

A visit to the mini mill, Uldens Hus (The House of Wool), includes a talk and a guided visit to the mill. You will learn how wool is spun, and if possible, there will be hands-on experiences as well. By the end of the day, you’ll know everything you need to know about wool.

The mini mill is within walking distance from the school.

Sonja Rømer Sørensen works with Isager as a proofreader of patterns, knitting supporter, and teacher of shorter courses in felting and embroidery.

About Tversted School and the School Kitchen

Tversted School was founded in 1956 and closed in 2015, when the yarn company Isager acquired the building. The former library and assembly hall are now used for Isager’s warehouse and administration, and in 2022 a new warehouse was added as an extension.

The former teacher’s residence has been converted into a guesthouse accommodating up to 27 guests in 7 rooms. In 2023, Isager purchased a second guesthouse located 300 metres from the school. Both guesthouses offer charming and cosy rooms in scenic surroundings, providing a calm atmosphere and opportunities to meet fellow guests.

The former classrooms are now used by craftspeople, each with a small shop located along the hallway where handmade products can be purchased. Payment can be made in cash (Danish kroner) at the Isager office, and gift wrapping is available.

The former kindergarten, established in 2005, became the Isager Flagship Store in 2023. Here you can also purchase wool produced at Uldens Hus.

At the School Kitchen, guests can enjoy freshly baked sourdough bread, homemade cakes, quality coffee, and a daily menu featuring local specialities and seasonal salads. Tversted School grows its own vegetables, fruits, and herbs, with a large tunnel greenhouse underway to expand production. The philosophy is simple: use what’s right outside the door and take care of what we have.

Bike Rental

The walk to the beach through the dunes or the village takes approximately 20–25 minutes and is a lovely experience. Every morning at 8:00 am, a group meets for a morning swim, and visitors are warmly welcomed.

If you prefer not to walk, a bike rental is located near the school. Group rentals receive special rates, but must be arranged in advance.
