Knit your first beanie hat in the round on this enjoyable knit-a-long workshop series.
Working in a small group with our experienced knitting tutor, you will, over two mid-morning sessions (see dates below), learn everything you need to know to complete a simple beanie hat.
Skill Level: You should be comfortable with a simple cast on, and knit and purl stitches. You should be a beginnner or intermediate knitter who is comfortable with these basics. No experience of knitting in the round is required.
Materials: The class fee includes a 100g ball of West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab Aran yarn and a copy of the professionally written pattern.
You will also need to bring a long 3.75mm (100cm to 120cm) circular knitting needle OR a set of 20cm 3.75mm double pointed needles.
This workshop is over two, 2-hour sessions, one week apart and the fee covers both sessions.
Session 1: Sunday 8th March 11.30am to 1.30pm
Session 2: Sunday 15th March11.30am to 1.30pm
Session 1: We will choose your yarn, review the pattern and cast on and join to knit in the round, proceeding to knit in a rib stitch pattern.
An amount of knitting of the hat will need to take place in your own time between the two sessions.
Session 2: Review progress and work to shape the crown of the hat by decreasing stitches and any steps needed to finish the hat.
