Fair Isle Top-Down Sweater Knit-A-Long
A series of 3x guided sessions to help you through the steps and techniques.About this experience
Fair Isle (or stranded colourwork) yoke patterned sweaters are very popular right now and many are knitted top down. Knitting sweaters from the top down in one piece is a great way of achieving a really good fit and there is very little finishing once you have completed all of the knitting. What’s not to love? So, if you have an aversion to sewing up or simply have a thirst for trying a whole new technique, then this knit-a-long is for you.
Over three evening sessions at Oxford Yarn Store and working from a two colour yoke pattern, we will look at the principles of knitting a Fair Isle top-down sweater, understanding how the pattern is written and followed, how increases are worked across a yoke and short rows worked to shape the neckline, how body and arms are divided, how sleeves are restarted and, finishing off you’re knitting for a fabulous finish!
