More information

ABOUT THE KNITTING WORKSHOPS:
Marianne Isager is working on the last volume in her trilogy “A Knitting Life” and the Isager workshop will concentrate on the knitting techniques used in this new book. Students can individually choose between different techniques. Yarn for samples will be available. All students should bring their own knitting needles, scissors, and darning needles and measuring tape. Teachers will be Birgit Østergaard and Kirsten Ravn/Sonja Rømer. Danish textile and knitwear designer Helene Jensen will teach one of the days. Helene’s patterns are sold on Ravelry and she is known for her colourful and entertaining personality.

THE WORKSHOP AT THE HOUSE OF WOOL:
A visit to the mini mill, Uldens Hus (the House of Wool) includes both a talk and hand-on experiences. When it comes to wool, project manager Susanne Mikkelsen is a walking dictionary and she will share her knowledge with you. Students will learn how the wool is spun, try to card and to spin the wool, and finally knitting from it. When the day ends, you’ll know everything you need to know about wool. The mini mill is in walking distance from the school.

ABOUT THE EXCURSION:
Note: Optional (not included in the price)
Price approx. € 106.- including entrances, lunch and coffee/tea

  • Visit to the Paper Museum
  • The founder of the museum is artist Karen Bit Vejle, who creates papercut art (psaligraphy). Using scissors as a pencil she creates the most amazing images and silhouettes that are displayed at the museum.
  • The special exhibition ’Hands on Origami’ unfolds the fascinating history of origami and shows examples of its many iterations and purposes.
  • Lunch at the village of Hune
  • Visit to ‘Anne Just’s Garden’, Garden at Hune (Haven i Hune)
  • Only a short distance from the museum, Anne Just’s Garden (Haven i Hune) is found. Anne Just’s life has been a lifelong love affair with flowers and a walk through the garden pleases the soul.
  • Coffee at the Coffee House in the garden.
